Mini Makeover

To celebrate a mini milestone in my journey back to happy, better Beth I decided a major change to my hair was the answer! I haven't done anything drastic in a while so I thought on it for a bit and then scheduled my appointment... cut AND color. After 2 hours I am pretty happy with the final product... One Down...

Well I have made it one week. And as silly as it might seem, I am choosing to celebrate the little things. My new normal is going alright, for starters I am putting that gym membership to work :) Better to be on an eliptical watching t.v. than sitting at home on the couch doing the same thing. I have been working on my "to do" list and so far it is full of exciting things like cleaning, purging closets of clothes etc. Once these are done I will move on to the next thing, what that is I haven't decided, but it will come soon enough. I think that keeping in motion is best, a nice steady pace. No need to sprint ( I have never been a runner anyways). I want to take my time to make sure my next move is the best one I could make for myself.

Blink

In the blink of an eye things can change.  They can go from normal and routine, to up-dumped in a heartbeat! Those have been the feelings this week as my life has gone topsy turvy. After 2 & 1/2 years with one person, my relationship is over. A week ago the light switch got flipped off and everything changed.   Everything has felt so fast, decision made, he looks for a place to live, I start bringing home boxes... he packs... I pack and tomorrow it will be over. I am now officially 30 and single.

Photo Fun

On the recommendation of my friend Ivy I downloaded an app for my iPhone called "Hipstamatic" which, when you take a picture, gives it a cool old school feel/finish. On New Year's Eve I helped celebrate Evan's first birthday with Angie, Steve and family. I brought my nice camera and didn't get any pictures I was crazy about. Wouldn't you know that I pulled out my phone to document the gigantic cupcake that Angie made for Evan's birthday and that one is very cool (and shareable)! Go figure...

So here is a picture of the cake taken with my phone, nothing fancy :)

And here is the same shot taken with the Hipstamatic app!

And on a separate note how classic that I only have pictures of food from the birthday to share, no people pictures, present pictures, candid shots, action shots, sleeping shots, eating shots... NOTHING! Hopefully after I take a class or two to learn how to use my camera that will change. Stay tuned!
