The Perfect Day

Saturday was the perfect day, a day that I was very much in need of. It started off with a walk around Greenlake with Angie. The weather was just right, although a bit windy, but the sun was shining and everything was getting so green. We had already decided that today was the perfect day for 14 Carrot Cafe. We haven't been in ages and decided it was a necessary treat after a good walk. Finish walk, drive to Cafe, have too much to eat (but so worth it) and then ponder rest of day. What else to do... wait, go to fabric store for craft ideas. Well not so much ideas as the resolution to finally make our market bags. Angie stuck with her fabric, however I found two new fabrics to use for my bag. I carried them around and as we stood waiting to get the fabric cut, there was a picture of my fabrics already paired up and featured in a project posted on a sign above the bolts. First words out of my mouth, "I put them together without the sign!" Classic, we had a good laugh over that. Fabric purchased, QFC stop for snacks then back to little Green House for an afternoon of sewing. The market bags were easy, how hard can sewing rectangles be? We added pockets as well as creating (without a pattern) little matching wallets. Something tells me the market is going to be even better this year :):)

Hello Bread!

On my last trip to see my mom I made off with her mini bread maker. I have always liked the little guy and am pretty sure I was the one who pushed her to make the purchase. It makes the greatest little loaves of fresh bread in less than 2 hours. I started off with a simple loaf of honey bread and although it isn't much to look at it was delicious!

Happiest Place on Earth??

Let me start off this post by saying that I have been scolded for being a bad blogger, bad as in not blogging enough!!! So I am trying to make up for it with a flurry of posts, so keep scrolling down for more :)

One of the girls at work was at Disney World for her birthday, so to celebrate at work we had cupcakes, which were SO delicious, plates and napkins with Mickey Mouse on them as well as these funny headbands with mouse ears on them. The rest of the week was quite challenging as we were really busy and short a person. To rally, Ivy and I wore our ears every day, it was necessary to keep things moving. On Thursday Cheryl made us little polka dot bows for our ears, just like Minnie! It is times like this that I really love the people that I work with!

Silly Flowers...

This is Seattle in April! Last week I decided to go for a walk at Greenlake after work. It had been a long day and I thought that the fresh air would do me some good. We had had a few days of warm weather a few weekends ago and everything started to pop, flowers, trees, lawns. However, in true Seattle fashion the weather turned cool again and still the flowers continued to reach for the sun...

It was a much needed walk and I took the next picture as a parting shot on a cool overcast day in the Emerald City.

Couch-Land

The latest great debate has been getting a new couch, I had 2 smaller couches from Connecticut, but they really weren't cutting it. The hunt has been on for a new couch, but how much to spend, how big should it be etc.??? The Costco Home in Kirkland is going to close so 2 weekends ago I tagged along with Angie and Steve and scouted out this couch. Not on any super sale, but the price was too good to pass up. So a few days later the couch was purchased, the U-Haul was rented and the switch was made. Now the seating options are endless and the living room is full of nothing but COUCH!!!!!!!!!

Click It or Ticket!

For Valentines Day I got a beautiful vase of roses from Greg at work, but needed to get them home. Not having a box to transport them in was an issue... what to do! Michelle came up with the easy answer, "Put them in the car seat and belt them in!" So that is just what I did :)
